The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has created a situation room at its head office in Accra to provide vital link between the district/regional offices and the head office ahead of the elections on Wednesday.
In a statement by the NCCE and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday, the situation room would relay the information that shall be received to other relevant agencies and stakeholders for the necessary actions to be taken.
According to the statement, the Commission said it had deployed its officers across the country to observe the general election as efforts to ensure free, fair and credible elections in the 2016 polls.
The statement noted: “The objective of the observation to gauge compliance with the electoral regulations and processes as well as timely information to address issues or incidents that have the potential to degenerate into violence before, during and after the elections.”
