A Former Ashanti Regional Minister Peter Anarfi -Mensah is optimistic the National Democratic Congress (NDC), can meet its one million votes target in the region.
According to him, the party is assiduously working towards the target indicating that there is even a possibility of exceeding the one million mark considering the level investments committed to the Ashanti Region alone.
“The one million vote target is on course …there is even a possibility of exceeding what we have set for ourselves because, the John Mahama administration has done enough to transform lives of residents in the region”, he said.
On Abusua Nkomo hosted by Kwame Adinkra, he said the region has had its fair share of investments in the areas of education, health, security and other areas which has met the satisfaction of residents for which reason they will massively vote for the NDC at the December polls.
President John Dramani Mahama it would be recalled, said the NDC can clinch one million votes in the Region because of projects the governing party has undertaken during its eight years rule are evident.
He told party supporters in that projects in water supply, roads, health, electricity and education in the Region are a testimony of the ruling party’s commitment to development the region.
In the last general election, NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo polled 1,531,152 , representing 70.86% of total votes, while John Mahama managed 612,616 or 28.35% of votes.
