NDC elects candidate for Tamale Central seat

A 44-year-old Accra based legal Practioner Inusah Fusieni has been elected to contest the up coming bye-election in Tamale Central on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress, NDC.

Mr. Fuseini polled 93 votes to beat his closest opponent, Abdullah Issifu who polled 58 votes.

The Tamale Central seat became vacant following the resignation and defection to the ruling New Patriotic Party of the former NDC MP for the area, Prof. Wayo Seini.

Mr. Inusah Fuseini was persuaded to step down for Prof. Wayo Seini to contest as the NDC?s parliamentary candidate in the 2004 elections.

Ibrahim Mutalah, the third closest opponent polled 25 votes.

The other opponents who contested the primaries were Ismael Alhassan Adam who polled 9 votes, Ibrahim Ausman had 7 votes, Mupawkil Fuseini 5 votes, Nuhu Alhassan 4 votes and A.YM.G Abrahima 2 votes.
