The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned against any attempt to remove Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
Reports suggested the IGP was asked to proceed on forced leave, linked to the 2023 leaked tape scandal, but the Ghana Police Service refuted this.
The NDC, however, remains skeptical, alleging a plot to manipulate the upcoming December general election by replacing the IGP.
Deputy Secretary Mustapha Gbande criticized President Akufo-Addo, stressing that the NDC will resist any election-rigging attempts and praising the IGP for reforms and discipline within the police force.
