NPA boss makes biggest u-turn as he prepares to award SML-like contract to new company

Dr. Mustapha Hamid, CEO of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), appears to have backtracked on his stance regarding revenue assurance in the petroleum downstream industry.

Initially questioning the necessity of a contract with Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML), he has now invited stakeholders to a presentation by Fields Limited, offering similar services.

Despite previous assertions of a robust tracking system, the invitation raised doubts about consistency.

It has prompted questions about the sudden shift, the credibility of Hamid's earlier claims, the necessity of a new service provider when GRA already offers a similar system, and the background and expertise of Fields Limited.
