Former president John Dramani Mahama has described the Akufo-Addo-led government’s strategy of governing the country as “government as you go”.
According to him, Mr Akufo-Addo’s government has only resorted to adhoc measures in solving the myriad of problems facing the country such as galamsey.
He said government was struggling to fulfill its promises to Ghanaians.
Mr Mahama said these at the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Unity Walk on Saturday, 5 May 2018 at Bolgatanga in the Upper East region.
He told supporters of the party that: “There are many other things that this government is doing in an adhoc manner. It is as if they are governing in a manner called ‘government as you go’ because for every programme that is rolled out, there is no policy, there’s no guideline and that is the problem. Government as you go, you just dream of something , even the promises you made before the elections, you’ve not yet fulfilled, you are struggling.”
Meanwhile, Mr Mahama disclosed he will soon announce his political future as the NDC prepare to elect a flagbearer to lead the party in the 2020 polls this year.
