The National Tenants’ Union of Ghana has criticized the housing policy proposals in the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) 2024 Housing Manifesto.
The union, led by Secretary-General Fredrick Opoku, expressed disappointment over what they see as recycled promises and inconsistencies from the NPP, noting that similar pledges made in 2016 and 2020 remain unfulfilled.
This response followed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s announcement at the NPP manifesto launch, where he promised a National Housing Programme aimed at providing affordable housing.
The union remains skeptical, citing a history of broken promises and failed negotiations.
