The Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, confirmed in Parliament that the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) has approved the sale of 60% of SSNIT’s shares in its hotel investment portfolio.
Addressing concerns, he clarified that SSNIT complied with NPRA's directive to furnish all necessary information before proceeding with negotiations.
The sale aims to address financial challenges, with some hotel investments yielding low returns or losses.
Awuah emphasized that the sale was deemed a strategic decision to attract private participation and prevent further resource depletion at SSNIT.
