Nana Akomea, Vice Chairman of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's 2024 campaign, has called for a public inquiry into the controversial 'expired rice' allegedly distributed to Senior High Schools across Ghana.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, Akomea suggested that Parliament should lead the investigation to clarify the allegations.
The controversy, raised by North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, involves claims of expired rice being rebagged and distributed to schools, with some students reportedly experiencing complications.
While government officials have dismissed the claims, Akomea emphasized the need for transparency, stressing that a thorough inquiry would restore public confidence in the education sector and hold accountable those responsible for the distribution and handling of the rice.
