Mahama Ayariga, MP for Bawku Central, has accused National Security Minister Albert Kan-Dapaah of receiving six million Ghana cedis (GHS6,000,000) monthly from the Finance Ministry to manage the Bawku conflict, amounting to eighteen million Ghana cedis (GHS18,000,000) quarterly.
Speaking on Woezor TV, Ayariga challenged Kan-Dapaah to deny the allegations, citing a lack of progress in resolving the conflict despite the substantial funds.
He noted that John Mahama avoided Bawku during his regional tour due to security concerns, leading to anger and protests from local youth.
The ongoing chieftaincy dispute in Bawku has caused significant violence and property loss over the years.
