Deputy Education Minister, Prof. Kingsley Nyarko, has urged Organised Labour to reconsider its planned nationwide strike over illegal mining (galamsey).
Speaking at the Ghana Teacher Prize event in Kumasi, Prof. Nyarko emphasized that dialogue is a better solution than industrial action.
Organised Labour's strike, set for October 10, aims to pressure the government into declaring a state of emergency over galamsey's impact.
Prof. Nyarko, also the MP for Kwadaso, called for collective efforts from all stakeholders, including civil society, traditional leaders, and the media, to address the issue collaboratively.
