President Nana Akufo-Addo has assured the people of Kwahu in the Eastern region that he will do everything within his power to deal with the Fulani crisis.
As part of a three-day tour, President Nana Akufo-Addo paid a courtesy call on Daasebre Akuamoah at Kwahu Abene on Thursday, December 21.
Mr Akufo-Addo said “it is a fact, four years from now you will not hear about the Fulani herdsmen” issue.
Kwahu is one of the worst affected by the activities of Fulani herdsmen whose cattle destroy farmlands of locals. The nomadic herders are also accused of raping and maiming the locals.
According to Mr Akufo-Addo the situation is challenging but government is exploring options including the establishment of kraals, cattle ranches and proper cattle management systems.
He said stakeholders have been in various engagements and a lasting solution to the menace will soon be implemented.
