Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Minister of Works and Housing, has urged financial support for the upcoming Ghana Hydro Fund, crucial for financing hydrological projects across the country.
During a visit to Kyebi in the Eastern Region, he called on local and international communities to back this initiative. The Ghana Hydrological Authority Act established the fund to address inadequate resources for hydro works. Nkrumah highlighted that only 2% of necessary hydro work in Greater Accra has been completed.
He emphasized the need for the fund to tackle issues exacerbated by excessive rainfall and human activities obstructing waterways.
