The apparent dismissal of Messrs Osafo-Maafo and Dan Botwe had been on the cards for a while. Wednesday, a newspaper remotely controlled by Mr Osafo-Maafo reported that he was going to be sacked.
?After months of nail biting anticipation and heart burns on the part of some ministers, the much touted cabinet reshuffle is here at last,? The Defender reported.
?The Defender can reliably claim that when the new ministerial posts are announced two of the most popular ministers would be out. And they are the Minister of Education and Sports, Mr. Yaw Osafo Maafo and the Minister for Information, Mr. Dan Botwe".
?Top Castle sources revealed to the Defender these two ministers had been dropped but assigned no reasons for their exit.?
The Castle was not amused.
Yaw Osafo Maafo, in spite of his highly acclaimed achievements as a minister, is said to have taken some fundamental decisions that the Castle has been unhappy with. The Statesman is reliably informed that his dismissal from government has absolutely nothing to do with his zealous pursuit of his presidential ambition.
The president is also said to be very unhappy with his handling of the construction of two stadia for CAN 2008.
