The latest twist to the issue of a police officer beating up a woman with a baby in the banking hall is the apology from his family.
In the statement sighted by YEN.com.gh, the family of Lance Corporal Frederick Amanor has pleaded with the victim, Madam Patience Sarfo, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), and Ghanaians at large to forgive their son.
According to them, the Lance Corporal Amanor, whom they affectionately called Skalla, is an amiable, very caring and compassionate person.
They, therefore, pleaded with Ghanaians to forgive him from the deepest part of their hearts.
While they wished Madam Patience Sarfo well, the family further appealed to Ghanaians to remember the embattled police officer in prayers.
Interestingly, parts of their apology statement that the behaviour their son put up is ‘usual’ of him as circled in red in the photo below.
Though this could be described as an obvious typographical error, some social media users have jumped on it to mock the family.
