Parliament has approved a €1.5 million tax waiver for the supply and installation of integrated e-learning laboratories in Senior High Schools.
This follows an €11.5 million contract with Televic Group N.V. for phase two of the ICT integration project aimed at enhancing education.
The Finance Committee, chaired by Patrick Yaw Boamah, recommended the waiver, highlighting educational and socio-economic benefits.
Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson supported the waiver, stating that while generally opposing tax waivers, this one is justified due to its positive impact on education.
The project includes providing laptops and desktop computers to aid learning.
