Political parties can help reduce trust deficit – Peace Council

The National Peace Council has urged political parties to take responsibility for rebuilding public trust in political institutions.

Speaking at the National Dialogue on Peace Beyond Election 2024, Executive Secretary George Amoh emphasized the need for transparency, integrity, and unity to restore confidence in the political system.

He also called on parties to ensure fair elections and respect democratic processes.

Amoh noted that the Electoral Commission (EC) must address trust issues, particularly with the voters' register, and confirmed ongoing discussions with the EC and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to find solutions.
