The President of the Republic of Benin, Yayi Boni has paid a courtesy call on the former first lady and wife of late President John Evans Atta Mills.
He was accompanied by the Speaker of Parliament in Benin, Matururi Nago and the President of the Constitutional Courts, Robert Dorsu.
President Mills passed away on Tuesday afternoon at the 37 Military Hospital following a short illness.
President Boni held a closed door meeting with (Mrs.) Ernestina Naadu Mills at her East Airport Regimanuel Gray Estate residence ostensibly to commiserate with her on the demise of her husband.
President Boni had a unique working relationship with late President Mills and there were reports that President Mills championed his election as the Chairman of the African Union.**
