Traders at Ejisu market reported selling two carrots for 15 cedis and four green peppers for 5 cedis.

Prices have nearly doubled due to scarcity and high transport costs, with vegetables imported from places like Morocco.

Factors include low rainfall and increased lorry fares. Experts cite the need for irrigation-dependent farming to boost year-round production.

Despite the current challenges, an influx of vegetables is expected by June-July with the onset of rains, offering some relief to consumers and vendors.
