Security analyst Prof. Kwesi Aning has dismissed a Reuters report alleging that Islamist militants from Burkina Faso are using northern Ghana as a logistical base.
The report claimed that insurgents accessed food, fuel, and medical care in Ghana with minimal interference from authorities.
Prof. Aning suggested the report might be part of a larger agenda to destabilize the region, emphasizing Ghana’s robust security framework.
Ghana’s Ambassador to Burkina Faso, Boniface Gambila Adagbila, also refuted the claims, affirming Ghana's support for Burkina Faso’s anti-terrorism efforts and advising caution when traveling between the two countries.
