Public sector services grind to a halt amid strike by PSWU

Public services have halted nationwide due to an indefinite strike by the Public Services Workers Union, protesting delayed payments of two key allowances.

Government agencies like the National Identification Authority (NIA) and Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) have stopped operations, leaving citizens frustrated.

Sammy Kojo, trying to retrieve his Ghana Card for a SIM replacement, expressed his annoyance at the disruption, as it blocked his access to his mobile wallet funds.

Another affected citizen, Ben Aziz, traveled from Kasoa to apply for a Ghana Card, only to find services suspended, leaving him uncertain of what to do next.
