Economist Dr. Frank Adu has warned that Ghana's reliance on food imports posed a threat to domestic food security and production.

Despite a trade surplus, Ghana imports a significant amount of food products, including shea nuts, vegetables, onions, and grains.

Dr. Adu urged policymakers to reassess the impact of imports on local farmers and food production.
