The Bolgatanga Traditional Council has urged Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo and the government to reconsider the recent closure of seven courts in the Upper East Region due to security concerns amid the Bawku conflict.
While the Chief Justice cited safety for judicial staff as the priority, the Council highlighted the need to keep courts open for access to justice, proposing strengthened security instead.
They also appealed for peace from the conflicting factions to help stabilize the area and allow essential services to continue.
