The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has disbursed GH¢1,400,202,403.56 to Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML) between 2018 and 2023 for three out of six service contracts, despite lacking Public Procurement Authority (PPA) approval.
This figure, revealed in a KPMG report released by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, contrasts with the previously stated GH¢1,061,054,778.00.
An investigation by The Fourth Estate uncovered contract irregularities and discrepancies in SML's service claims, prompting President Akufo-Addo to commission a comprehensive KPMG audit.
Despite these issues, Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta sought to expand SML's contracts in 2023, leading to their suspension following public outcry.
