SML was paid GH¢720m out of ESLA’s GH¢2.45bn revenue – KPMG report

The full report by KPMG has revealed that Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML) was paid GH¢720 million from GH¢2.45 billion in revenue raised under the Energy Sector Levy Act (ESLA) during its transaction with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) between May 1, 2020, and December 31, 2023.

SML's involvement reportedly led to an incremental volume of 1.70 billion litres and an additional tax revenue of GH¢12.98 billion.

The GH¢720 million paid to SML constitutes 29.41% of this incremental tax revenue.

This period saw an average monthly volume increase of 38.6 million litres attributed to SML's operations.
