Scandal: One dead, another arrested as Ghana ‘Paralympic Team’ absconds in Norway

Nine members of a Ghanaian 'paralympic team' have absconded in Norway after obtaining visas under false pretenses.

The team, which was supposed to participate in the Fjordkraft Bergen City Marathon on April 27, 2024, failed to register for the event.

Following their arrival in Oslo on April 25, one member was arrested attempting to travel to Sweden, and their coach passed away after collapsing.

The National Security Minister's letter has led to alerts issued to Western Diplomatic Missions and European border agencies.

Investigations revealed forged signatures on visa applications, leading to the suspension of involved individuals and organizations.
