The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) is set to summon deposed Kwahumanhene, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II, for investigations into his tenure as ADB Bank Board Chairman.
The probe will examine the bank’s loan approvals under his leadership, focusing on alleged inappropriate influences in loan disbursements.
The investigation follows a September 2024 petition by businessman Collins Darkwa Aboagye, who accused Daasebre of demanding a GHC 50,000 bribe and GHC 2 million from a GHC 12 million loan approved for Prabhat Trading Limited in 2022.
Aboagye alleges Daasebre failed to repay the GHC 2 million despite multiple assurances.
The scandal led to Daasebre’s destoolment by the Kwahu Traditional Council and his resignation from ADB under Bank of Ghana directives.
