The Convener of Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA), David Asante has called the bluff of the Editor of the Daily Dispatch newspaper Ben Ephson over his list of NHIS card registrants in the Electoral register.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has submitted total lists of 56,435 NHIS registrants to the Supreme Court ahead of the formal hearing of Abu Ramadan’s case today; Pollster Ben Ephson released the figure on Kasapa FM Wednesday.
In his submission, the pollster Ben Ephson called on the Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA) to apologise to Ghanaians who were injured in the demonstrations for a new voters’ register because the pro-NPP group used the figure four million registrants and “lied” to get Ghanaians pour onto the streets to demonstrate against EC.
However, in an interview with Kasapa FM’s Nana Yaa Boamponsem Ameyaw on GHANA KASA on Kasapa Kase3, the Convener of LMVCA, David Asante who was not pleased with the comments of the pollster cautioned him to stay off the case because they got their figures from the Attorney general.
“We will not waste much time in responding to Ben Ephson”, David Asante stated.
In response to this, Ben Ephson also gave a strong warning to David Asante not to rain insults on him.
Meanwhile, The Supreme Court will today [Thursday], June 30 2016, reconvene to hear Abu Ramadan’s case against the EC asking it to compel the Commission, to delete names of persons who got onto the electoral roll through the use of the National Health Insurance Scheme card as a proof of Ghanaian citizenship.
