Member of the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee of Parliament, Inusah Fuseini, has urged disgruntled law students to stop organizing press conferences and challenge the status of the Law School's Independent Examination Board (IEB) in court.
Out of 474 students who sat for the 2017-2018 final exams, only 91 students representing 19% were deemed to have passed and will be called to the Bar.
The mass failure comes at a time when the General Legal Council (GLC) is pushing to give legal backing for a strict process for admission into the Ghana Law School amidst severe opposition from some renowned legal practitioners and law professors.
Speaking to Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive Thursday, Inusah Fuseini, asked the students not to waste time since they have every right to know the legal authority with which the IEB is working.
According to the law maker, General Legal Council (GLC)’s Legislative Instrument (LI) 1296 and the legal act is enough to regulate the admissions into the law school.
He urged the GLC to ensure that all structures are used for the purposes of expanding admissions into the law schools.
