The youth, led by one Alhaji Shaibu Rabiu Quartey, are accusing the Weija Asafoatse of doing the biddings of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and openly campaigning for that party’s Parliamentary candidate, Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah.

According to the youth, not only that the their asafoatse has been campaigning for NPP in the constituency, but he is also secretly using some hooligans operating under his authority to intimidate electorate in the area.

Narrating the conduct of the asafoatse in an interview over the weekend, Alhaji Shaibu Quartey said, “We have a lot of reports about him which has been reported to the police, but nothing has been done and no arrest has also been made”.

The visibly furious youth leader told this reporter that, “All that we the youth of Weija are saying is that, if Nii Ayi Pampamku wants to do politics, then he should abdicate his position as the Asafoatse of the area and put on his political paraphernalia and assist his paymasters in the campaign”.

“We will not forgive him if anything untoward happens to any youth in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency;” he warned.

He said the youth do not want any violence in the area during the Election Day; for that reason, “We wish to call on the security agencies to, as a matter of urgency, call Nii Ayi Pampamku to order before any bad thing happens to the youth of Weija”.

The youth also claimed that the NPP candidate, Madam Tina Mensah, has been providing the hooligans with offensive weapons just to instigated violence and intimidate the electorate in the NDC strongholds.

One of the hooligans, whose nickname was mentioned as ‘Terror or Macho’, is said to be leading the land-guard’s team for the Weija-Gbawe NPP parliamentary candidate.
