The demonstration embarked by National Association of Law Students turned nasty when the police fired live cartridges and sprayed water on the demonstrators, who sat in the middle of the road creating traffic jam.
This compelled the students to run helter-skelter for their dear lives with some seeking asylum in structures along the Arko Adjei interchange.
The situation created traffic jam along the interchange with most drivers tooting their horns.
One of the students said: "I can't believe this is happening".
The students were seen shouting, while others threw water bottles and placards into the police.
