Parents who lost their children mysterious at the Kumasi High School, (Kumaca) have been advised to sue the educational authorities.
So far the death of Kumaca students stance at 10 since November 29, causing fear and pandemonium among students and parents thereby making some parents trooped to the school to withdraw their wards.
The Legislator for the South Dayi Constituency, Rockson Dafeamekpor, who advised the parents, believed “Someone has to answer for these deaths because the parents were assured that their wards would be safe in the school but the contrary has happened.”
Expressing concerns on Joy News TV, he added further that, “Everything shows clear that the parents were betrayed and needed to sue the authorities for watching their children die.
“I was assured that the conditions prevailing in the boarding house are such that my son’s health will not be at risk and under those I agree to leave him and now he dies, someone should be telling me something. I should have a remedy against the state”.
“So I think, Parents of those children must begin to initiate legal action against the state and then officials will wake up.”
It is confirmed that as of Wednesday morning four deaths [three boys and a girl] and 61 cases had been recorded since November 29.
Some parent who complained bitterly to the media, indicated that, “school authorities are not being transparent in the handling of the matter, we see nothing important coming out of the investigations.”
“They are withholding information and that’s not the best thing to do. Earlier this year, when they invited us to deliberate on the issue, none of them [authorities] came to talk to us, we just went back home after sitting for hours.”
