Supreme Court has become predictable – Ansah Asare

Former Ghana School of Law Director, Kwaku Ansah Asare, has criticized the Supreme Court over rulings by Chief Justice Gertrude Torkonoo on vacant parliamentary seats, claiming the Court’s jurisdiction wasn’t properly invoked after the Speaker declared the seats vacant.

He argued that the Supreme Court’s reach doesn’t extend to Parliament and that this ruling, ahead of elections, reflects political interference.

However, NPP’s Constitutional and Legal Committee Chair, Frank Davies, labeled Asare’s comments “unfortunate,” asserting that Supreme Court criticism should be based on legal principles, not opinions on its predictability.
