Supreme Court to announce verdict tomorrow amid Speaker’s no-show

The ruling follows closing arguments from the plaintiff and Attorney-General, who also serves as Minister for Justice. Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo announced the court’s readiness for a decision.

Controversially, Speaker Alban Bagbin’s legal team, led by Thaddeus Sory, neither submitted a required statement of case nor appeared in court, despite a prior extension.

The Attorney-General criticized this absence, arguing it shows disrespect for judicial proceedings. He urged the court to move forward, stressing the need for timely legal resolution.
