TUC declares strike over NPRA’s approval for sale of SSNIT hotels

The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has declared an indefinite strike starting Monday, July 15, in response to the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) approving the Social Security and National Insurance Trust's (SSNIT) plan to sell a 60% stake in four hotels to Bryan Acheampong's Rock City Hotel.

TUC Secretary General Dr. Yaw Baah expressed confusion over NPRA's approval without further engagement, especially after an initial halt.

Dr. Baah stated that all workers must stop working until SSNIT announces the termination of the sale, arguing that the deal is not in the best interest of Ghanaian workers.
