The Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG) has condemned Organised Labour’s withdrawal from a planned national strike against illegal mining (galamsey) and announced its own strike plans.

TUTAG criticized Organised Labour for failing to consult other unions before backing out, calling it a missed opportunity to address environmental damage.

TUTAG's demands include revoking mining licenses in sensitive areas, halting new mining permits, banning mining in forest reserves, and increasing water supply budgets.

The association is committed to fighting galamsey through industrial action and urges the government to act swiftly to protect the environment.
