The Introduction of MOMO Has Been ‘Unfavourable’ To Parliamentarians — NDC MP

James Klutse Avedzi, the MP for Ketu North and Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, has expressed concerns about how Mobile Money (Momo) has intensified the pressure on lawmakers.

Since entering Parliament in 2005, Avedzi noted that constituents now have easier access to communicate their needs via text messages and calls, particularly through Momo, which has made it challenging for MPs to manage expectations.

He explained that unlike earlier times when constituents would wait for his visits to raise issues, now they can directly request financial assistance at any time.

Avedzi pointed out that meeting these demands is difficult since lawmakers’ salaries often fall short of addressing the multitude of requests they receive.
