Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the NDC, has stated that voting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) out of office in December is crucial to ending illegal mining in Ghana.
He argued that illegal mining, or "galamsey," has worsened under the current government due to the involvement of officials and wealthy individuals.
Gyamfi emphasized that the NDC, if elected, would tackle the issue through initiatives like the "Tree for Life" and "Blue Water Project" to restore polluted water bodies.
He cited a JoyNews documentary showing how rivers have deteriorated under the NPP's administration.
