Deputy Minister of Defense and New Patriotic Party (NPP) lawmaker for Nkronza North, Hon. Major (Rtd) Derrick Oduro has counselled government to be truthful to the unemployed youth in the country.
“Government must know and inform the youth there are no available jobs for them now. …the jobs are not there and they should say it”, he stated.
"The authorities must know and inform the people there are no existing jobs…because if we have enough jobs to go around who will complain”, he quizzed
Vigilante groups in the party; Delta Force and Invincible Forces are piling pressure on the government to secure them sustainable jobs threatening to shut down offices of state institutions if government does not heed to their calls.
The Deputy Defense Minister commenting on the threats stated government is not obliged to give everyone job indicating his outfit will not entertain hooliganism anymore.
“It is not incumbent upon the party gurus and party officials alone to give you employment….the individual people in the country should know this”, he warned them against any unscrupulous activity.
According to Hon. Derrick Oduro, the party then in opposition engaged the services of these vigilante groups for protection because they were deficient in that sector considering the fact they were an opposition party but not to give them jobs.
