First Deputy Minority Whip, Ahmed Ibrahim, has urged Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin to accept his new role as the Minority Leader following Speaker Alban Bagbin's decision to declare four parliamentary seats vacant.
This shift has given the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) a majority with 136 seats, reducing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to 135 seats.
Ibrahim stressed the urgency of resuming parliamentary work, particularly with only 50 days left until the election, and called on Afenyo-Markin to focus on key legislative tasks like preparing a vote on account for the upcoming session.
