Unknown group clashes with Police at Kawukudi during anti-galamsey protest

Chaos erupted at the Kawukudi intersection in Accra when an entourage, allegedly belonging to the Chief Imam, forced their way through a police barricade set up during the #StopGalamseyNow protest.

The entourage reportedly clashed with police and removed the barricades as the Chief Imam was on his way home from the National Mosque.

Meanwhile, the second day of the Concerned Citizens Against Galamsey protest began with high energy, as demonstrators marched through Accra, calling for action against illegal mining.

They plan to present a petition to the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
