Upper West NPP Regional Chairman dead

Dr. Saanbaye Basilide Kangbere, the Upper West Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has passed away at 76 due to renal health issues.

His death was confirmed by Tanko Dauda Daniel, the regional secretary of the NPP. Although the party awaits official communication from the family, Mr. Adul-Rahman Aziz, the first vice chairman, is expected to assume the role of chairman.

In 2022, Dr. Kangbere won re-election despite concerns about his defeat, beating his main contender, Alhaji Mahama Toyina, by a slim margin, polling 130 votes out of 242 valid votes cast.
