The Public Procurement Authority (PPA) has declined the Parliamentary Service of Ghana's request to hire the external legal firm Sory@Law, advising them instead to rely on the Attorney General’s Department for all legal matters.
In a December 12, 2022 letter, the PPA emphasized that state institutions should adhere to existing protocols and maintain institutional integrity by using internal legal resources.
Although Sory@Law has represented Parliament in cases, the PPA reinforced its stance on avoiding single-source procurement for such services.
The decision comes amid ongoing cases involving the firm and Parliament.
