The Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa has warned Municipal and District Chief Executives, as well as heads of Government Agencies in the Region, to desist from engaging in any form of malfeasance that will hinder development.
He bemoaned the low position of some of the 18 Municipal and District Assemblies of the Region in the latest Local Government Service Performance Rankings, saying it attest to the fact that public resources in those areas might have been misapplied.
Dr. Letsa was speaking at the opening of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council’s Maiden Regional Conference on Performance Contract in Ho.
He said he will ensure that public officials who misconduct themselves are prosecuted.
“The Assessment has got one of the key performances in financial management. Sometimes the audit reports that we receive are not too good so I issued a warning to them that this time if you don’t behave well in terms of financial management, we are going to hand you over to the law enforcement agency,” the Minister noted.
