As the clock ticks closer to tomorrow’s elections, Reverend Dr. Owusu Bempah, founder and leader of Glorious Word Ministry International has cautioned electorates to desist from acts which will spark violence in the country.

According to him, political leaders who encourage members to create violence or vote more than once in the 2016 elections are pushing for the death of that member, hence his warning.

The founder was speaking on the sidelines after giving a sermon to his congregation last Sunday on the theme; “Men of God and Governance”.

The man of God said it was important that the country maintained the peace it is enjoying because the devastation that emerges from civil wars leaves a deep scare on the nation.

He was of the view that elections was about demonstrating who one thinks should lead the nation and thus there should be nothing violent about it, adding that sharing diverging views should not make members of different parties enemies.

Dr. Owusu Bempah, entreated political leaders to counsel their members not to carry guns to polling stations to foment troubles, steal ballot boxes or scare others from voting for their preferred candidates.

He further cautioned Madam Charlotte Osei, Chairperson for the Electoral Commission to be transparent and fair in discharging her duties, in order for all and sundry to accept the results after declaration.

Rev. Bempah seized the opportunity to passionately appeal to Christian and Peace Councils to ensure the country maintains it peace after elections on Wednesday.

He also called on the National House of Chiefs, Ex-Presidents and the International bodies to make a fervent efforts to declare no war before, during and after the elections.
