Voters at the Methodist Primary polling station in the Kintampo North District in the Brong Ahafo Region, were thrown into state of shock Wednesday morning, following the death of an old man, moments after he cast his vote in the ongoing general elections.
The deceased popularly known as Abudu Abudu, reports say had gone to the polling station at dawn to queue patiently waiting for his turn to vote, however soon after he cast his ballot he suddenly started shouting for help, complaining of heart pains.
The incident caused the voting exercise to be temporarily halted.
He was attended to, by others in the queue and rushed to Kintampo Government Hospital for treatment but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
News of his death has thrown the entire area into a state of mourning as his demise has come as a shock to many residents who had seen him in healthy condition earlier in the day.
