The release of the 2024 WASSCE results may be delayed due to the government’s unpaid debt to the West African Examination Council (WAEC).
John Kapi, WAEC's Head of Public Affairs, announced that although the results were initially expected between December 9 and 15, lack of funding could impact the timeline, especially for marking and processing.
While the government provided initial funding, additional promised funds for post-exam processes have not been received.
WAEC needs about GH¢186 million for the exam cycle, but has only received GH¢60.9 million, creating concerns that the delay could push the release date further.
