‘We can’t pretend there are no challenges with Free SHS’ – NAPO

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, NPP’s running mate for the 2024 elections, has acknowledged challenges with Ghana’s Free Senior High School (SHS) policy but expressed confidence in resolving them.

Speaking at the University of Memphis, he highlighted improvements in student performance due to the policy and reaffirmed the party's commitment to refining it for equal educational opportunities.

Dr. Prempeh emphasized the 30% equity policy, which reserves spots in top schools for students from deprived areas, and reiterated the NPP's goal of removing financial, gender, and geographical barriers to education for all Ghanaians.
