John Dramani Mahama, the NDC flagbearer, has vowed to establish public universities in Ghana’s six newly created regions if elected in 2024.
Addressing chiefs and supporters in Nkatieso, Juaboso Constituency, Mahama highlighted the need for equitable access to higher education across the country.
He noted that past NDC governments had established the University of Health and Allied Sciences in the Volta Region and the University of Environment and Sustainable Development in the Eastern Region, reflecting the party's commitment to expanding education.
“We believe every region deserves a public university. When we return to power, we’ll collaborate with traditional leaders to secure land and establish universities in all six new regions,” Mahama assured.
