The New Patriotic Party has warned the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Electoral Commission (EC) to desist from deceiving the electorate by tricking them into using fake ink pads during Wednesday’s voting exercise.
According to the Acting General Secretary of the NPP, Mr John Boadu, the party “has discovered that some evil people have acquired fake ink which fades in about 30 minutes after using it to thumbprint the ballot papers”
He indicated that such an act by the “NDC is shameful”.
Mr Boadu further indicated that the election conducting body must ensure that such fake inks were also not provided by officials at the polling stations.
“We are pleading with the EC that as we raise concerns of some evil people placing fake ink at the voting area, it should also not be that the EC officials are going to be the culprits who will place the fake inks at the polling stations,” he stressed.
